The ideas for inviting kids to the "writing arena" is intriguing and something I am looking into more. I want my students to feel able to write without all the fear and trepidation attached to it now. They have to write for a couple of major tests and for many assignments over the course of their education, but they must write for the world audience for the rest of their lives. If they hate it, they won't do it. I want them engaged and finding relevance.
