Joyce Armstrong Carroll

I've used this strategy for revision many times. It is quite helpful to students who actually go through the process. It is nice to have an affirmation of a practice I know I stole from somewhere. :) My daughter used this practice in her 9th grade honors English class ten years ago. She still refers to how it helped her be a better writer. The color coding helps to actually find the clues and move through something tangible instead of being told to remove all be verbs. The colors and the search assist the student to revise and improve their work more effectively.
