III. Author's Purpose for Writing: Describe a model for analyzing instructional situations including one teacher and one student as regards the quality of the interplay between the teacher and the student and to give an example of application of the model.

IV. What are the points made in the review of the literature? Do they support the need for the study?: If the teacher merely ask for information preknown to the teacher and the teacher evaluates the student’s answer according to the teacher’s preknowledge, if the teacher asks for information preknown to the teacher, the teacher then scaffolds the student’s learning by giving clues to the correct answer and then evaluates the answer according to the teacher’s preknowledge or the teacher asks for information not preknown to her and the teacher is genuinely interested in the student’s answer.

C. What data is being collected: A conceptual foundation is first accounted for, then the model is introduced, followed by an example of the model in use.

VII. What the Author Discovered or Conclusions/Implications: This model catches only brief instances of instruction. Yet, it can be used to improve student influence on instructional situations.
